ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Lyon, France, I grew up in a musical family, bilingual in Spanish – my love for foreign languages and for music developed hand-in-hand from a very young age.

I first started learning the violin at age 4, which I continued for 15 years, and soon started learning more languages – German, English… I was always fascinated with how the formation of sounds differed from one language to another, and how each language allowed me to structure my thoughts differently.

After finishing school and starting a double Bachelor’s degree in Law and in Applied Languages (English and German), I discovered my voice, and soon decided to change directions and study opera performance at the CNSMD in Lyon. It soon became clear that my passion for languages had to take me abroad, and I went on to do a Master’s Degree at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, and subsequently got accepted to study at the prestigious Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I then joined the National Opera Studio, and the Scottish Opera Emerging Artist Programme.

Throughout my studies, I got to learn from established French singers and coaches, lovers of the French language such as Francoise Pollet, François Le Roux, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, Hélène Lucas, …

Opera performance has always been the ultimate medium which allows me to marry my deep love for languages and for music. As I grew as a singer, I developed a particular knack for French diction, and came up with a tried and tested method to teach it to non-native singers as I realised how important it was to demystify French diction to allow for efficient and expressive vocal use in French repertoire.

I find it very rewarding to help my students achieve – and exceed – their diction goals and deliver stunning performances in French.
